Anutin He explained that the new electric car is shared with his son, revealing his fondness for electric vehicles because they are quiet and accelerate well. He plans to keep the old car for now as its fuel consumption is too high. After Ratchada dispelled rumors about the Prime Minister acquiring another electric car, she urged calm and clarified that the other Japanese electric car belongs to "Pek Saran."
At 15:00 on 30 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, posted on Facebook to clarify rumors that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul bought an additional electric car, a TOYOTA bZ4X AWD. She said, "The public can critique governance as they wish. We understand the people's concerns, but some issues require patience."
Currently, there is a misunderstanding that Prime Minister Anutin purchased another new electric car last week and is preparing to drive it to the Government House, prompting questions about why he needs to buy so many cars.
She clarified, "That's not the case. The new Japanese electric car mentioned belongs to the Prime Minister's son. The Prime Minister did not buy another one; he only drives the car he already uses to the Government House."
Later, at 15:50 at Government House, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul was interviewed about the reports of buying a new electric car, whether it belonged to him or his son. He said, "We live in the same house; sometimes he borrows my car, sometimes I borrow his. We have 3-4 cars at home, but for now, the high-performance, fuel-hungry cars are covered, and I use smaller cars." When asked how long he intends to use electric vehicles, he replied, "Until the situation improves. Once I started using it, I got hooked." Asked about the experience, he said, "They are quiet, accelerate well, and come with many features. The old car is kept for now but consumes too much fuel—3 kilometers per liter is unsustainable."
