Anutin Confirms Submission of Cabinet List to the King, Assures No Disruption in Government Transition

Anutin confirmed he has submitted the Cabinet list to the King but declined to say whether all 35 names were included. He stressed that the process is beyond the Prime Minister’s authority, expressed confidence that governance will not be disrupted, declared the government transition will be smooth, and said anyone claiming to wait for appointment should be criticized.

On 30 March 2026 at 15:50 at the Government House, Prime Minister Anutin Chanvirakul said in an interview that he has signed and submitted the new Cabinet list according to procedure. When asked if the list included all 36 positions including the Prime Minister, Anutin replied that it was best to wait, as the matter depends on royal approval. He said it would be improper to discuss details because the submission must be to the King, and by law, there must be a royal decree, which is beyond the Prime Minister’s power. When asked what the first task would be after royal endorsement and oath-taking, Anutin said the work will continue seamlessly, with many ministers remaining in their roles, mostly in key positions, ensuring no disruption to the country’s administration.

When asked whether having a fully empowered new government would improve governance, Anutin laughed and said he did not know how to answer. Asked if operations would run more smoothly with full authority, he said it certainly would, as everyone is under his supervision as Prime Minister. He assured that the transition will be as smooth as possible and that no minister will say they need to wait for formal government formation or full authority before starting work. He warned that anyone who said so would be reprimanded by him, emphasizing that the Prime Minister remains the same person. While the term "transition" applies, there is no "disruption" caused by waiting on any legal formalities.
