The Middle East Conflict Situation Center (MECSC) introduced Bow Nattha as its spokesperson and launched a centralized Facebook page providing comprehensive information on the oil situation and fake news. She revealed plans to adjust the briefing format to make it easier for the public to understand, while still involving relevant civil servants.
At 16:30 on 30 March 2026, at the MECSC office in Phakdi Bodin Building, Government House, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, acting as MECSC director, assigned Mr. Danucha Pichayanan, secretary-general of the National Economic and Social Development Council, to chair the MECSC meeting in his place due to prior commitments.
The meeting reported that Pipat signed MECSC Order No. 1/2569 appointing Ms. Nattha Mahattana, a political activist, as MECSC spokesperson. This aims to ensure that the dissemination of information by MECSC is rapid, timely, and fosters public understanding of government measures related to the Middle East conflict as of 30 March.
Ms. Nattha said that after being appointed MECSC spokesperson, a meeting concluded that the daily 11:00 a.m. MECSC briefings would be reformatted. While relevant officials would still provide information as before, she, as spokesperson, would summarize and clarify key points in a simpler manner. This is intended to help the media communicate the situation more clearly to the public. Ministry representatives will be available to answer questions after her summary.
Ms. Nattha added that a new centralized hub would consolidate all MECSC-related information, including energy and Middle East developments, into one place. Today, the MECSC Facebook page was launched to allow media to access all necessary data easily, reducing the sense that information is scattered.
Additionally, the Facebook page will handle explanations of various fake news, saving time by not requiring the spokesperson to address these issues during briefings.
