Three crew members of the "Mayurinarie" remain missing after rescue teams conducted a thorough search of the entire ship but have yet to find them. Authorities confirm they will not cease their efforts and have informed the families accordingly.
On 30 March 2026, Mr. Panidol Patchimsawat, Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided an update on the case of three missing Thai crew members aboard the cargo ship "Mayurinarie" while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that Precious Shipping Public Company Limited has dispatched expert rescue teams to conduct a detailed search of the vessel; however, the three crew members have not been located. The search has been difficult due to fire damage on the ship, with lingering smoke and flooding in the engine room. Nevertheless, the company has communicated the latest information to the crew members' families.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed it will persist in its efforts by closely coordinating with Iranian authorities and other relevant parties. It also called on all sides to ease tensions through negotiations in accordance with international law to ensure the safety of civilians and maritime navigation in the region.
