Ten People's Party MPs face uncertainty as the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) files charges against 44 former Move Forward MPs at the Supreme Court concerning Article 112 amendments. If the court accepts the case, the MPs may be suspended from their duties.
On 31 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the full meeting of the NACC resolved to approve a draft petition to be submitted to the Supreme Court, accusing 44 former Move Forward MPs of serious ethical violations for proposing amendments to Article 112 of the Criminal Code. Surapong Intarathaworn, Secretary-General of the NACC, stated that the process is currently in the administrative phase to prepare 56 sets of petition documents, and the commission will expedite coordination with the Supreme Court to file the charges as soon as possible.
The petition has drawn focus particularly on 10 People's Party MPs, who are among the 44 former Move Forward MPs accused. These include Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, Sirikanya Tansakul, and Rangsiman Rome, among others. If the Supreme Court accepts the case without other orders, these 10 MPs must "immediately suspend their duties" in accordance with previous rulings, even if they hold office in a subsequent term. The NACC affirmed that the petition will request the court to order the suspension concurrently, to uphold strict ethical standards.
