Noppadol Set to Become New Secretary-General of the Council of State

Noppadol Pereruek is set to become the Secretary-General of the Council of State, replacing Pakorn, following Pakorn's appointment as Deputy Prime Minister in the second Anutin Cabinet. The appointment is expected after the government policy statement is completed.

On 31 Mar 2026 GMT+7, reporters at the Government House reported that after the royal command appointed the 35 members of the second Anutin Cabinet, including Pakorn Nilprapan, former Secretary-General of the Council of State, who now serves as Deputy Prime Minister, the Secretary-General position became vacant. Noppadol Pereruek, the most senior Deputy Secretary-General, is currently acting as Secretary-General. Reports indicate that once the new Cabinet has taken the oath and delivered the government policy statement to Parliament, with full authority, Noppadol will be appointed as the Secretary-General of the Council of State.

Noppadol previously served as a legislative drafting committee member at the Office of the Council of State before being promoted to Deputy Secretary-General in 2021. He also serves as the spokesperson for the Office of the Council of State. He holds a bachelor's degree in law from Ramkhamhaeng University and a master's degree in law from Thammasat University.
