The Kla Tham Party announces it will act as a proactive opposition, focusing on solid data and ending the use of political rhetoric. MPs are ordered to closely monitor oil prices, electricity rates, and inflation, urging the government to address these issues precisely.
On 1 Apr 2026 GMT+7, following a party meeting chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, the party's advisory chairman, policies and work guidelines were intensively given to the party's Members of Parliament (MPs). Sergeant Major Yossingh Liamlert, MP for Chachoengsao from the Kla Tham Party, revealed that going forward, the party will function as a fully effective opposition. Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat emphasized that all MPs must rely on accurate, factual data rather than emotions or political rhetoric when criticizing opponents.
"We will be quality MPs, performing oversight straightforwardly and constructively, ensuring data is solid so that presenting issues to the government carries weight and leads to real solutions," said Sergeant Major Yossingh. He added that the party has also established mechanisms for MPs to closely monitor situations directly impacting people's livelihoods, including tracking oil prices and reserves carefully amid the energy crisis, as well as watching inflation that drives up essential goods prices, and monitoring future electricity rates that might further burden citizens.
Sergeant Major Yossingh further stated that the party does not want to be just one that asks questions in parliament for showmanship. Instead, it seeks to be a bridge connecting local problems to tangible solutions, focusing on government policies that truly meet people's needs, ensuring that the public’s votes are not wasted, and demonstrating that good politics is measured by action.
