Chadchart Has Not Decided Whether to Run for Bangkok Governor Again, Emphasizes Maintaining Neutrality

Chadchart remains undecided about whether to run for another term as Bangkok governor. He emphasized maintaining neutrality and focusing on performing his duties as governor to the best of his ability. He pointed out that Bangkok's colors and policies are open and not exclusively owned.

At 10:00 a.m. on 1 April 2026, at the Bangkok Metropolitan Council meeting room, Irawat Pattana Building, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) headquarters, Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, addressed the issue of some candidates using the organization's corporate identity (CI) and Bangkok's symbolic colors in their campaigns. He stated that the BMA has not copyrighted these colors or elements, so it cannot prohibit anyone from using them.

Chadchart explained that colors or symbols such as "green" are available for general public use and are not copyrighted property of himself or the BMA. Additionally, words or names used in previous campaigns have not been trademarked. Regarding policies, Chadchart emphasized that they are open policies published publicly from the start, allowing anyone who finds them useful to adapt them without restrictions, including proposing improvements.

"At this time, there is no decision about candidacy and no support for anyone, as I must focus on performing my duties as Bangkok governor to the best of my ability and maintain neutrality," the governor said.

Regarding concerns about public misunderstanding, Governor Chadchart believes there is still time before the election. He noted the important role of the media in communicating accurate information and reiterated that voting is the public's duty to consider candidates who are qualified, transparent, and accountable to collectively advance Bangkok's future development.
