Supachai slammed the claims as "absurd" after a popular page accused her of holding a "shophouse doctorate," stating that many people have graduated legitimately and assuring that she studied and graduated in reality, with numerous achievements in various companies.
At 13:38 on 1 Apr 2026 GMT+7, at the Government House's Santimaitri Building, Supachai Suthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, gave an interview clarifying the case where the CSI LA page posted information regarding her MBA degree from Northrop University in 1988, which closed in 1991.
When asked by the press why she attended this lesser-known university while others attended more prestigious ones, Supachai exclaimed and explained that many capable individuals have graduated from this institution in Thailand. She emphasized that she truly studied and graduated. Whether the university later closed is not her concern, as it was operational during her studies. She also noted her extensive work experience and achievements across various companies, expressing that she sees no issue with the matter, before concluding with: "It is very absurd."
