
Sabida inspected the readiness to welcome the royal visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Princess Royal, for the raising of the main pole of the royal crematorium for Her Majesty the Queen Mother, following design principles that ensure the highest dignity and strict adherence to ancient royal traditions.
On 1 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, conducted a site visit to inspect and prepare for the royal visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Princess Royal, who will preside over the raising of the main pole of the royal crematorium and inspect the construction of its associated structures on 3 Apr 2026 GMT+7. This is in preparation for the royal cremation ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. The design principles strictly follow ancient royal traditions, combined with exquisite Thai artistic elements reflecting the royal virtues and the deep benevolence she has shown to the Thai people.
The inspection included Mr. Phanombut Chanthrachot, Director-General of the Fine Arts Department, along with senior officials and relevant staff from the Fine Arts Department, who monitored the progress at the Sanam Luang site.
The purpose of the inspection was to ensure the readiness of the area for the main pole raising ceremony and the royal reception. The Fine Arts Department and Ministry of Culture are fully prepared to carry out every step of the royal crematorium construction with meticulous care, beauty, and the highest honor. This guarantees the completeness and dignity of the upcoming royal cremation ceremony, strictly following ancient royal traditions.
