"Noo - Chen - Nim" joyfully gathered around a lunch table at the Thai Government Building to resolve lingering concerns, then affirmed the government's solid unity and readiness to announce policies before Songkran.
On 31 March 2026 GMT+7, the atmosphere at the Government House was especially lively as Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul hosted a lunch at the Thai Khu Fah Building for coalition partners. Leading the group were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education Yotsanan Wongsawat (Deputy PM Chen) and Minister of Labour and Pheu Thai Party leader Julphan Amornwiwat (Minister Nim). They discussed collaborative work approaches over well-known Thai dishes such as chicken rice and Sriyan meatballs.
Anutin confirmed a cheerful atmosphere, noting his long-standing familiarity with ministers from the Pheu Thai Party dating back to their joint COVID-19 response efforts. He emphasized that if any past issues arise, they should be addressed directly by phone rather than through messaging apps to ensure smooth cooperation.
Deputy PM Yotsanan stated that Thailand must overcome political conflicts to focus on livelihood issues. He highlighted that government stability is crucial to gaining foreign investors’ trust and commitment. He also acknowledged that some campaign promises, such as the 'Millionaire Tax,' might require adjustment to fit coalition governance realities.
The Prime Minister outlined the key timeline: after the oath-taking ceremony on 6 April, the first Cabinet meeting will approve the policy draft, followed by a formal policy announcement to Parliament before the Songkran festival. Going forward, Economic Cabinet meetings will be held every Monday, involving ministries such as Labour, Agriculture, and Higher Education to coordinate national strategic planning, ensuring the government can proceed promptly after the policy declaration.
