MP Ice Urges Julaphan to Accelerate Care Pension Scheme and Investigate 850-Million Baht Web App

"Ice Ratchanok" urges the new Labor Minister to immediately get to work resolving long-standing Social Security issues. After "Trinuch" stalled work for four months to no avail, the Care Pension scheme and the 850-million-baht Web app remain inactive.

On 2 April 2026, Ms. Ratchanok Srinok, together with Mr. Sahaswat Khumkhong, an MP from the People's Party, held a press conference calling on the new Minister of Labor. They expressed the public's strong hope that the new minister will perform better than the previous one, who wasted almost four months, reflecting incompetence and lack of insight. They hope the newcomer will avoid repeating past mistakes. They emphasized that the Care Pension issue had been discussed in a public hearing and approved by the board since late last year. For seven months, 600,000 insured people have awaited Care Pension payments and justice; meanwhile, 5,000 have died waiting for the new pension scheme that remains unused due to delays caused by Ms. Trinuch Thienthong. They expect the new Labor Minister to value the insured who contributed to pensions and to expedite submitting the Care Pension scheme to the Cabinet and its prompt announcement.

Regarding the new election regulations, there has been extensive discussion about attempts to overturn them. Recently, this effort was reflected in a public hearing where 90% of insured persons opposed the Social Security Office's attempts to overturn the regulations. She appeals to Mr. Julaphan Amornwiwat to listen to the public's voice amid criticism that the regulations may be overturned and urges the new minister to apply the old rules. Importantly, this Social Security board's term expired in mid-February, and over 45 days have passed. According to the constitution, if a parliament member's term ends, a new election must be held within 45 days, but Social Security regulations do not address this. She hopes the new minister will promptly organize the election. The People's Party and insured persons nationwide want a clear timeline for this process.

Regarding the 850-million-baht Web Application project, many people, including media personnel trying to claim unemployment, child support, or pension payments over recent months, have been unable to do so. If the Labor Minister visits Social Security districts or views the Facebook groups where daily complaints pour in, they will see millions affected by this issue. She calls for establishing an investigative committee to disclose details about the 850-million-baht project and to urgently restore the system's functionality.

Concerning the Sky Night building, which has been mentioned dozens of times, reports confirm it was purchased at an excessively high price and with unusual haste. She urges the new Labor Minister to promptly establish an investigative committee to find those responsible and appoint a chairperson without delay. She also wants a clear timeline for when this investigation will conclude, as it has been pending for a year. She hopes today's demands will see progress and cooperation from Mr. Julaphan.
