On 2 Apr 2026, reporters at Parliament reported that on 1 Apr the Senate whip committee meeting, chaired by Senate President Mongkol Surasajja, considered several agendas including the Senate meeting schedule on 7 Apr to prepare for a joint parliamentary session to hear the Cabinet's policy statement to Parliament on 9-10 Apr. They also prepared to establish a committee to examine the backgrounds, conduct, and ethics of nine nominees for the Supreme Administrative Court judgeships. Additionally, the meeting discussed arrangements for providing lunch to senators during Senate sessions. It was resolved that for the first ordinary session of 2026, the Senate Secretariat would provide lunch, but senators would be responsible for the cost themselves, with 10,000 baht deducted from their position and additional allowances.
