Operations Center Monitors Middle East Conflict, Concerned Over Irans Threats to Bomb Israeli Tech Firms Affecting Thai Nationals

The Operations Center is monitoring the Middle East conflict after Iran signaled intentions to attack U.S. technology companies and confirmed sufficient oil stocks through the Songkran festival period.

On 3 April 2026 at the Government House, Ms. Nattha Mahatthana, spokesperson for the Operations Center for Managing and Monitoring the Middle East Conflict, briefed on the situation assessment meeting. The situation in the Middle East remains uncertain regarding escalation or de-escalation. Recently, the United Kingdom hosted a meeting with over 40 countries seeking ways to pressure Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz, focusing on diplomatic efforts and mine clearance. However, concerns arise as Iran has begun attacking U.S. tech companies in neighboring countries and has threatened attacks within Israel. Thailand is very concerned due to the large number of Thai nationals residing there and urges close attention to announcements on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Facebook page.

Ms. Nattha added that regarding the energy situation discussed at the meeting, the Operations Center confirmed normal conditions. Oil stock and refining capacity are sufficient through the Songkran festival. The public need not worry about fuel shortages if usage remains normal. The Ministry of Transport has prepared backup plans by deploying fuel trucks to high-demand areas. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce has emphasized strict price labeling and preventing product hoarding during the festival. Any violations should be reported immediately via hotline 1569.

Additionally, the government has launched the Blue Flag affordable price campaign to ease public hardship from 2 to 10 April. In Bangkok, distribution points include Bamphen Nuea School in Minburi District (3–5 April), Wat Sikhun in Don Mueang District (4–6 April), Kheha Chalong Krung Sports Complex in Nong Chok District (7–9 April), and Ha Yaek Phraya Suren Market in Khlong Sam Wa District (8–10 April). In the provinces, it begins at Market 304 Plaza, Si Maha Phot District, Prachinburi Province (8–10 April). Essential goods are discounted, such as medium-sized eggs at 95 baht, cooking oil at 43 baht, and jasmine rice at 110 baht per bag.

The Operations Center spokesperson concluded by noting that as this period marks the transition between the old and new government—after which the Center will conclude its term along with the former administration—if no official briefings occur, the public should follow updates directly from the main pages of each ministry. This includes safety updates abroad from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, energy information from the Ministry of Energy, and product prices from the Ministry of Commerce, to receive the most accurate information during this fragile situation.
