Kanveer submitted a letter to the Election Commission resigning from the Prawat Party, explaining that the party's founding ideology did not align with what was originally expected. He thanked everyone for their votes and said he will continue working in human rights, humanitarian aid, and foreign affairs.
On 3 April 2026, Mr. Kanveer Suebsang, leader of the Prawat Party, former secretary-general of the Justice Party, and former party-list member of parliament, posted on Facebook along with a photo of his resignation letter to the Election Commission, announcing his resignation from the Prawat Party. He described this as another important political decision.
Today, 3 April 2026, I have officially decided to resign from membership in the Prawat Party and hereby declare that from now on, I am no longer affiliated with the party in any way.
The party I had hoped to build, based on ideology together with two former MPs—P'Golf (Suraphan Waiyakorn) and Professor Apisit Laesatruak—was to create a political institution founded on democratic principles, with human rights as the backbone. This model mirrors countries where democracy is based on a Basic Law embedding human rights principles at the core of the constitution.
This was the vision the three of us discussed for almost a year in the House of Representatives before forming the party. However, due to the short time available to establish the party and prepare for the recent election, we had less than one month to gather members for the election. As a result, the founding ideology we expected could not be fully realized.
Everyone wants to engage in politics, but the practices within Prawat Party are not what I desire. My vision for politics differs from many who joined. Therefore, this is the appropriate time for me to step away and focus on work I am skilled at and passionate about, including humanitarian efforts, human rights, peacebuilding, and foreign affairs.
"I thank everyone who shared the same political ideals and supported our work, as well as the public who encouraged us and gave their votes in the 8 February 2026 election. I sincerely appreciate it. I am still working and look forward to meeting again soon with those who truly share the same ideals."
