Thai Sang Thai Party Elects Udomdej Rattanasatein as New Leader, Promotes Young Members to Management Team

The Thai Sang Thai Party has reorganized its leadership, appointing Udomdej Rattanasatein as the new party leader and Torpong Chaiyasarn as secretary-general. The party is also promoting young members to the management team, emphasizing a mission to establish honest politics, alleviate poverty, and create opportunities for grassroots citizens.

On 4 April 2026 at the Thai Future Institute in Don Mueang, the Thai Sang Thai Party held its annual general meeting. More than 400 party executives, leaders, and members attended. A key agenda item was restructuring the party and defining its work direction following the recent election.

At the start of the meeting, the committee conducted elections for the new executive board. The assembly unanimously elected Mr. Udomdej Rattanasatein as party leader and Mr. Torpong Chaiyasarn as secretary-general. The leadership team was reshaped to combine experienced and younger members, enhancing the party's ability to modernize and respond to evolving political circumstances.

Regarding ideology, the party reaffirmed its core stance on political work, focusing on systematic poverty alleviation, reducing inequality across all dimensions, and creating opportunities for grassroots people to access resources and economic chances equally at every life stage. The party also aims to build long-term sustainability for the country.

After his election as party leader, Mr. Udomdej stated the party will proceed based on democratic principles, uphold honesty and integrity, and keep promises made to the people, continuing the path set by former party leader Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan. He emphasized that as long as the majority still face poverty and inequality, the party will persist in pushing policies that help citizens create jobs, build careers, and earn sufficient income to live with dignity.

Additionally, the party aims to promote policies through its role in the coalition government, focusing on structural solutions such as income redistribution, increasing economic opportunities at the community level, and developing workforce capabilities to achieve tangible and sustainable results.

Mr. Torpong, as the new party secretary-general, said the post-election period is a crucial time for the party to review lessons learned and improve organizational structure in management, communication, and political strategy to better compete and meet the needs of the people.

He added that this restructuring prioritizes creating space for young people to take key roles alongside experienced senior politicians, balancing continuity with political innovation. This will make the party more agile and effective in advancing policies.
