Democrat Party Launches Over 10 Projects to Continue Youth Democrat Legacy Toward Becoming a Model Political Institution

Korn, Radklao, and Sakoltee teamed up to restructure the power of the new generation, launching over 10 youth activities to continue the "Youth Democrat" legacy, aiming to become a model political institution and to lay the foundation for a political ecosystem.

5 Apr 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Korn Chatikavanij together with Ms. Radklao Intawong Suwankhiri and Mr. Sakoltee Phattiyakul Deputy leaders of the Democrat Party jointly launched a strategy to advance the role of the party's young generation to carry on the ideological legacy from the Youth Democrat era toward becoming a nurturing ground for quality politicians and citizens. They kicked off the Youth Engagement Programmes Pitching Day, dedicating over six hours to review and select more than 10 creative project ideas aiming to establish the party as Thailand’s model political institution.

Ms. Radklao said the key focus is to build constructive democracy through youth participation. Many projects showed immediate potential, such as the Financial Literacy project to raise awareness against financial scams and cyber threats for young people; the “108 Careers: Study What You Like, Choose the Right Future” project, focusing on career guidance, education planning, and access to scholarships and student loan funds to open pathways to future careers.

The “SMART & GREEN ENERGY CITY” project promotes vocational youth to become key players in engineering and develop clean energy technology for smart cities. The Blue Canvas project provides a platform for expression through graffiti art reflecting the identity and thoughts of the younger generation. All projects involve over 30 former candidates and young party members collaborating systematically under the vision “Young People for Young People” to give youth real opportunities to experience and learn constructive politics firsthand.

Mr. Sakoltee said this initiative builds on the Youth Democrat legacy in a modern, accessible way that better addresses the needs of young people. The primary goal is to cultivate quality citizens aware of their roles, duties, and social responsibilities, while opening spaces for youth to genuinely participate in national development. Detailed information on each project will be gradually revealed, inviting youth to join the party’s efforts to drive social and national progress.

Mr. Korn concluded that these activities are not occasional events but are foundational to a “political ecosystem” that continuously offers youth opportunities to experiment, learn, and develop their potential. Political parties should serve as open institutions, safe spaces for learning, and bridges connecting youth aspirations to public policy-making. On 6 April, marking the 80th anniversary of the Democrat Party’s founding, the party reaffirmed its role as a political institution steadfastly standing with the people and committed to promoting participation across all ages under the belief in shared ownership of the country.
