Prime Minister Anutin convened economic ministers to discuss the energy crisis and restructure wholesale oil prices at refinery gates before bringing the issue to a special Cabinet meeting tonight for approval.

At 14:00 on 6 April 2026 at Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul summoned Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Akniti Nitithanprapas, who is also chairman of the Fuel Price Structure Review Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Sutthampan, Minister of Energy Aknat Promphan, Minister of Industry Warawut Silpa-archa, and Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council Danucha Pichayanan. They met to discuss restructuring wholesale oil prices at refinery gates before submitting the matter to a special Cabinet meeting tonight for approval.

At 15:15, after Prime Minister Anutin spoke with the Cabinet at the Thai Khu Fah Building and before presenting himself to the monarch to take the oath of office and before the special Cabinet meeting tonight, sources revealed that this was a discussion to align with coalition parties in preparation for the government's policy statement to parliament. The meeting did not emphasize any particular issues. Additionally, they discussed measures to address the energy crisis, which will also be presented at the special Cabinet meeting tonight.
