Her family originally ran a private business; among her siblings, none were politicians and she had no political capital. Therefore, she considers that her surname does not carry the suffixes "prominent family" or "political lineage."
Going back to 2019, Mrs. Suksomruay entered politics for the first time as a secretary to Mr. Saksayam Chidchob, Minister of Transport, before deciding to run for election as MP for Amnat Charoen under the Bhumjaithai Party in 2023 and again in 2026.
Mrs. Suksomruay also stated that the position of Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office is beyond what a northeastern woman from Amnat Charoen could have expected.
