Cabinet Approves Government Policy Statement Using Five Pillars to Drive National Economy

The Cabinet, in a special meeting, approved the "Policy Statement of the Cabinet" using five main pillars to drive the national economy, with plans to present it to Parliament starting 7 April 2026 GMT+7.

At 21:45 on 6 April 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, the spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced at the Government House that the Cabinet (in a special session) approved the Policy Statement of the Cabinet, which comprises five main areas:

1. Economic affairs

2. Foreign affairs and security

3. Social affairs

4. Disaster management and environment

5. Public administration and legal reform

Ms. Ratchada added that amid the highly uncertain global situation, particularly conflicts in the Middle East causing disruptions in crude oil and natural gas production and transport, supply has declined while demand rises. This has led to a rapid increase in energy prices, impacting the overall economy. At the same time, Thailand faces social, environmental, natural disaster, and security challenges.

The government's administration in this term will build upon immediate problem-solving while restructuring the country's economy and society. It will also transform public administration into an "Integrated Strategic Cluster System," uniting private sector and public participation. The government's role will shift to supporting and facilitating the people, while accelerating the development of government digital systems. This administrative mechanism divides work into five strategic clusters:

1. Macroeconomy, investment, and future industries

2. Production, trade, and services

3. Infrastructure, natural resources, and environment

4. Social affairs and welfare

5. Foreign affairs and security

"The government is ready to present its policy statement to Parliament starting 7 April 2026 GMT+7. Following the Cabinet’s policy presentation, English translations will be prepared, and the public will be able to access the documents via www.thaigov.go.th "
