Pakorn chose an auspicious moment to conclude the special Cabinet meeting and paid respects to the sacred objects at the Government House for good fortune.
At 22:13 on 6 April 2026, following the conclusion of a special Cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt proceeded from the Santimaitri Building to the spirit shrines—the Phra Phum Shrine, Grandfather Shrine, and Grandmother Shrine—sacred to the Government House. He brought garlands to pay respects for good fortune before officially resuming his duties. No incense or ritual offerings were used. He then paid respects to the sacred objects atop the Thai Khu Fah Building before boarding a vehicle to return home.
When asked by reporters if this was an auspicious time, Pakorn smiled but did not answer. When pressed whether he was the first to come to the Government House’s sacred objects, Pakorn said he had no specific auspicious timing in mind.
Reporters noted that during the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul instructed ministers to return to their ministries to perform their normal duties. He added that religious ceremonies could be conducted at a convenient time, as he himself did not consult any auspicious timing. He remarked, “If I cannot stay, then no one else can.”
