At 09:20 on 7 April 2026 GMT+7 Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul gave an interview at the Ministry of Interior regarding the reason why pollution control zones have not yet been officially declared in the northern region. He said, "The provincial governors have already declared and announced these zones."
When reporters asked if the upcoming government policy statement to parliament would reveal Thailand's crisis under Prime Minister Anutin's administration, which is accused of protecting its own and allies' interests, the Prime Minister did not answer. When pressed about the opposition beginning to reserve the Kathin debate on government policy, Anutin said, "Right now, it is the period for forest robe offerings, not Kathin." He then got into his car to proceed directly to the Government House.
