The Prime Minister briskly boarded his car, ignoring reporters' persistent questions about the contentious issue of refineries not cooperating to reduce refining fees. He nodded in acknowledgment of positive signals following a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
On 8 April 2026 at 11:30 GMT+7, after Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, completed his duties as the presiding officer at the opening ceremony of National Elderly Day and Family Day 2026,
reporters attempted to ask Anutin whether the announced two-week ceasefire between the United States, Israel, and Iran was a positive sign. Anutin did not answer but gave a slight nod.
When asked if he had discussions with the Russian ambassador that morning, the Prime Minister did not respond, only nodding slightly. Regarding Energy Minister Aeknath Promphan's statement that two refineries were not cooperating in reducing refining fees, Anutin smiled but did not answer the question.
When further asked whether there would be additional talks with the refineries, and about the Department of Special Investigation's (DSI) inspection of the oil depot in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani Province, suspected of hoarding oil, Anutin did not respond.
Reporters also questioned him about the assassination attempt on Kamonsak Liwamo, a Narathiwat MP from the Prachachart Party, which involved a vehicle from the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) in Narathiwat Province. As the director of ISOC, the Prime Minister did not answer this question either, only smiling slightly before immediately boarding his car.
Before Anutin boarded the car, reporters tried to question him about the Finance Ministry's plan to propose to the Cabinet a budget transfer of 84 billion baht to stimulate the economy under the Khon La Khrueng Plus program. The Prime Minister again did not respond.
