Theng Prepares 20 Peoples Party Speakers to Critique Anutin 2 Government Policies

The People's Party is sharpening its knives, preparing 20 outspoken champions to dissect the Anutin 2 government's policy declaration. They stress not targeting individuals specifically but focusing on analyzing conflicts of interest, favoritism, profiting from the energy crisis, and directly helping the public.

At 11:30 a.m. on 8 Apr 2026 GMT+7 at the Parliament, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, party-list MP and leader of the People's Party, spoke about preparations for the government's policy debate on 9 Apr. He said they have prepared more than 20 debaters and have allocated topics for discussion. They are ready to use the parliamentary platform to benefit the public most effectively, especially addressing the oil crisis and the PM2.5 dust crisis affecting northern residents. He emphasized they are not specifically targeting any one minister, but the current issue is the conflict of interest for which this government is being questioned in solving the nation's problems. Many policy proposals as solutions have already been offered by academia, political sectors, and others. While some appear in the government's policy documents, what matters more is the political will to address problems straightforwardly without conflicts of interest.

When asked about the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) preparing to submit the case of 44 Move Forward Party MPs for Supreme Court adjudication on the same day, Mr. Natthapong said that if not rushed, the process should occur after Songkran. However, given recent political situations, some cases proceed slower than usual while others move unusually fast, depending on who is conducting the process and which political faction is involved.

"I do not want to see the beginning of this government's official duties at the parliamentary policy declaration marred by political events that cause the public to question this administration, which has consolidated all power. They may abuse that power," Mr. Natthapong said.
