The Secretary-General of the Election Commission affirmed fairness to the Prachachon Party in the dissolution case involving Specter C, emphasizing that decisions are not based on feelings and noting the investigation is confidential.
At 11:40 a.m. on 8 April 2026 at the Election Commission office, Mr. Saweang Bunmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, spoke about the dissolution case of the Prachachon Party concerning Specter C Company. He said the case depends on the facts and the laws stipulated. Currently, the investigation phase is ongoing. The law clearly defines the elements of the offense. Whether it meets the legal criteria is under factual examination. Witnesses have been summoned for statements. Once the Election Commission receives the case for consideration, fairness must be given to all parties. The facts must be examined carefully. At this stage, no further comments can be made as it remains with the investigators.
When asked whether the Election Commission subcommittee summoned the complainants for statements today and if the Election Commission was aware, the Secretary-General said the investigation process is confidential and he cannot disclose details. Clarity will come only when the case is submitted to the Election Commission for consideration and a resolution is reached. Only then will the outcome be shared. All facts and legal aspects will be explained in due course; patience is required.
“The party will receive fairness. The feelings expressed by different sides reflect the public’s sentiment but do not influence the Election Commission’s work. The Commission focuses solely on legal matters and law enforcement. Public sentiment will not be factored in because the Election Commission must abide by the law.”
