NACC Confirms Filing Charges Against 44 Former Move Forward MPs Tomorrow, Denies Link to Government Policy Day

The NACC will submit evidence against 44 former Move Forward MPs to the Supreme Court on 9 Apr at 09:00 GMT+7, accusing them of serious ethics violations related to the amendment of Section 112. The NACC insists it is acting in accordance with its duties and denies any political motive behind filing the charges on the government's policy statement day by Anutin 2.

On 8 Apr 2026, Mr. Surapong Intonaworn, Secretary-General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), stated that on 9 Apr at 09:00 GMT+7, he has assigned Mr. Patthanapong Chanpetchphun, Assistant Secretary-General of the NACC, to submit the petition against the 44 former Move Forward MPs for serious ethics violations related to their petition to amend Criminal Code Section 112 to the Supreme Court. After reviewing the petition documents provided by NACC officials, he confirmed the details were complete and accurate. The petition comprises 56 sets, about 200 boxes, nearly 100,000 pages, transported by three vans. He emphasized this is a procedural action with no political implications regarding the timing on the government's policy statement day. The government's policy statement is unrelated to the NACC. When the NACC submits the petition on 9 Apr, the Supreme Court has not yet issued any order that day. The court must first form a panel to examine the completeness and accuracy of the NACC's case before deciding whether to suspend the 44 accused MPs. The timing of any court order remains unknown.
