Watch Live: Parliamentary Session with Anutin Charnvirakul Leading New Cabinet to Present Government Policy Address on Five Urgent Issues

Watch the live broadcast of the parliamentary session where Anutin Charnvirakul leads the new cabinet in presenting the government’s policy address, focusing on five key areas to tackle urgent issues in the economy, foreign affairs, and security.

On 9 April 2026, reporters reported that from 08:30 onwards, a joint parliamentary session will convene for the first meeting of the annual ordinary session. The urgent agenda is the cabinet’s policy address to Parliament under Article 162 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, scheduled over two days: 9–10 April 2026.

Today, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul will lead the policy address to Parliament before officially assuming cabinet duties, following the oath-taking ceremony on 6 April 2026. According to the constitution, the cabinet must present its policy to Parliament before beginning its work, except in urgent cases allowing immediate duty assumption.

The government’s policy address comprises 19 pages, with the main policies organized into five key areas:

1. Economic affairs

2. Foreign affairs and national security

3. Social affairs

4. Disaster management and environmental issues

5. Public administration and legal reform

Earlier, Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, a party-list MP and leader of the opposition People’s Party, stated that the party has prepared over 20 speakers for the policy debate, with topics allocated, especially addressing the oil crisis and the PM2.5 dust crisis affecting northern residents.

Atthakorn Sirilattayakorn, MP for Chachoengsao from the Kla Party, said that Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, a party-list MP and party advisory chairman, discussed encouraging MPs from all regions to raise local issues as much as possible. If time permits, Lt. Col. Thammanat may participate in the concluding debate, but it remains uncertain whether he will join the government policy discussion.

The government policy address debate will last a total of 32.5 hours, divided as follows: 1.5 hours for the session chair, 1.5 hours for the prime minister’s address, 6 hours for cabinet explanations, 4 hours for senators, 5.5 hours for government MPs, and 14.5 hours for opposition MPs.
