On schedule, NACC officials transported 10 boxes of case files using 3 vans to submit the case against 44 Move Forward Party MPs, who proposed amending Section 112, for serious ethical violations to the Supreme Court. The outcome is awaited on whether 10 People’s Party MPs will be suspended from their duties.
At 09:00 on 9 Apr 2026 GMT+7, at the Supreme Court on Ratchadamnoen Nai Road, officials from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) brought 3 vans carrying about 10 boxes of case files regarding 44 Move Forward Party MPs who signed a proposal to amend Criminal Code Section 112. These were submitted to the Supreme Court for consideration as serious ethical misconduct.
Supreme Court police and staff used trolleys to gradually unload the case files from the NACC vans and transport them into the Supreme Court building. NACC and court officials closely checked the quantity of case files, completing the process in about half an hour before the NACC officials proceeded inside the court building.
This case originates from 2021 when Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, then leader of the Move Forward Party, compiled the names of 44 MPs from the party—though not all members—who submitted five draft bills protecting freedom of expression and citizens' rights in the justice process, including a draft amendment to Criminal Code Section 112, to the Speaker of the Parliament.
Among the 44 Move Forward Party MPs whom the NACC filed complaints against, 10 currently hold seats as People’s Party MPs. Of these, eight are party-list MPs: 1. Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, party leader and prime ministerial candidate; 2. Ms. Sirikan Tansakul, deputy party leader; 3. Mr. Rangsiman Rome; 4. Dr. Wayo Asvarungreung; 5. Mr. Pakornwut Udomphipatsakul; 6. Mr. Natthawut Buapradum; 7. Mr. Surachet Praveenwongwut; 8. Mr. Natcha Boonchaiinsawat; and two are constituency MPs: Mr. Theerachai Phanthumas and Mr. Tephiphop Limjitkorn, both representing Bangkok.
