Royal Decree Grants Special Military Ranks and Honors to Three Fallen Soldiers

The Royal Gazette published a proclamation granting special military ranks and royal decorations to three military officials from the Ministry of Defence who died in the line of duty during an emergency.


On 9 April 2026 GMT+7, the Royal Gazette website published a Prime Minister's Office announcement regarding the conferral of special military ranks. It states that a royal command has granted special military ranks to three military officials from the Ministry of Defence who died performing their duties during an emergency, as follows:

Royal Thai Army

1. Second Lieutenant Phuwiwat Kamsong was promoted to Major General effective 11 March 2025 GMT+7.

2. Second Lieutenant Apichart Phaphan was promoted to Major General effective 2 June 2025 GMT+7.

Royal Thai Air Force

3. Chief Master Sergeant Sukasem Phrompanchai was promoted to Wing Commander effective 11 June 2025 GMT+7.

Additionally, the Royal Gazette website published a proclamation regarding the special royal decorations. It states that His Majesty the King graciously granted special royal decorations to three military officials from the Ministry of Defence who died performing their duties during an emergency, as follows:
