Prasert Assumes Ministry of Education Role, Promotes Policy to Reduce Inequality and Alleviate Educators Burdens

Prasert, accompanied by Akaranan, officially took office at the Ministry of Education, highlighting policies aimed at reducing educational inequality and easing the burdens on teachers and educational personnel.

At 7:09 a.m. on 10 April 2026, Mr. Prasert Chantraruangthong, Minister of Education, together with Mr. Akaranan Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education, officially assumed their positions. They were welcomed by Mr. Suthep Kaengsantiya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, along with ministry executives, civil servants, and educational personnel at the Ministry of Education.

The Minister and Deputy Minister paid respects to the ministry's principal Buddha statue (Phra Buddha Baramee Sakdisit Siamisorn Chakri Sattha Anusorn Suksa Tharangsang), the spirit house, the royal monument of King Rama VI (King Vajiravudh), the Buddha statue at the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, the Pu Chiam shrine, and the Buddha statue in the office for auspiciousness. Afterwards, they met with senior executives, civil servants, and staff of the Ministry of Education and received congratulatory flowers in the Damrongrajanuphap Room, Ratchawallop Building, Ministry of Education.

The Minister of Education revealed that they received a warm welcome from the ministry's executives, civil servants, and staff. He shared his work agenda, committed to advancing several areas. After delivering a policy statement to the parliament on 9–10 April 2026, he listened to feedback from various sectors, which guided the ministry's operational plans—especially focusing on two key issues: reducing educational inequality and alleviating the burdens on teachers and educational personnel amid the ongoing energy crisis and the persistent impact of PM 2.5 pollution.

These approaches aim to provide tangible support and relief to the difficulties faced by parents, teachers, and educational personnel.
