
The Election Commission (EC) has approved the election plan for Bangkok Metropolitan Council members, the Governor of Bangkok, Pattaya City Council members, and the Mayor of Pattaya to be held simultaneously on 28 June 2026, with candidate registration from 28 May to 1 June.
On 10 April 2026 at 14:00, the Office of the Election Commission announced that the EC resolved to approve the election plan for members of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, the Governor of Bangkok, Pattaya City Council members, and the Mayor of Pattaya, following the completion of their terms on 28 June 2026.
Additionally, the Office of the Election Commission instructed the directors of the EC offices in Bangkok and Chonburi provinces to coordinate with the Bangkok Metropolitan Secretary and the Pattaya City Secretary to prepare draft announcements for the elections. These drafts will be submitted for approval by the EC directors in Bangkok and Chonburi, who will then issue the official election announcements to ensure the election process complies with the provisions of the Local Councils or Local Executives Election Act B.E. 2562 (2019) and its amendments, specifically Section 12.
The EC has scheduled candidate registration for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, Governor of Bangkok, Pattaya City Council members, and Mayor of Pattaya from 28 May to 1 June 2026. The election day is set for Sunday, 28 June 2026, from 08:00 to 17:00. The Election Commission encourages those wishing to run for office to study the qualifications, disqualifications, and prepare all necessary documents thoroughly before submitting their candidacy.
