Nareseth Submits Peoples White Paper to Supachai-Yossanan, Advocates for a Reverse Policy Model

"Supachai and Yossanan" expressed unified support after receiving the people's white paper to help review government policies, while initiating cross-ministry cooperation to revisit intellectual property issues.,

On 10 Apr 2026 GMT+7 at the Parliament Building, Mr. Nareseth Prachyagorn, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Political Development and Public Participation, presented a policy agenda book from the public to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Suthamphan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yossanan Wongsawat for their consideration in state administration.

Mr. Nareseth explained that this policy agenda book resulted from collaboration with The Active (ThaiPBS) and network organizations aiming to “reverse” the policy-making process. Instead of citizens merely receiving policies from the government, citizens and academics closely engaged with real problems now formulate proposals for the administration, covering environmental issues, inequality, corruption, and political structures.

"Solving the country's problems is not the burden of any single person. I hope the government led by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul will consider these proposals as a symbol of truly promoting public participation," Mr. Nareseth stated.

Deputy Prime Minister Supachai thanked the committee and noted that the ten proposals in the document are very important because policy-making must reflect the people's needs. However, many issues overlap across ministries, requiring integration of both public and private sectors. She will receive the document and forward it to the Cabinet to ensure the people's voices are considered for maximum benefit.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Yossanan, also known as “Professor Chen,” added that regarding human capital and education development, the proposals from citizens refined through intensive workshops will serve as a useful tool for the government to reassess whether current policies fully meet the people's needs.

Additionally, both Deputy Prime Ministers revealed their seamless cooperation. Mr. Yossanan plans to discuss “intellectual property” matters with Ms. Supachai, similar to prior talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ms. Supachai stated reliance on research and innovation from Mr. Yossanan's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to enhance Thai product value, particularly addressing raw material issues like plastic pellets, ensuring the industry can progress without shortages. They affirmed working together with a focus on success, regardless of party affiliation.
