Paramee Waichongcharoen resigned from the People's Party to join the working team of Akkanant Kannakittinan, Deputy Minister of Education, explaining the reason as knowing him personally.
On 10 April 2026, Paramee Waichongcharoen posted a clarification on social media regarding news images showing her joining the working team of Mr. Akkanant Kannakittinan, Deputy Minister of Education. She stated that she had already informed and apologized to her former party. She said she called Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, the head of the People's Party, who acknowledged the situation, and she has resigned from her candidacy as a party-list MP for the People's Party. She also apologized to the party for the delayed notification and resignation that led to the news buzz.
Regarding the background of this cross-faction appointment, Paramee revealed that she has known Mr. Akkanant since before he was an MP. When he became Deputy Minister of Education, he invited her to assist because he recognized her history of debating and driving educational initiatives.
"Mr. Akkanant saw that I have a dream to improve Thai education, which aligns with his commitment. Therefore, he invited me to help drive progress and benefit the Thai education sector. I will use my knowledge and experience to address complex educational problems and strive to bring positive change to Thai education," Paramee stated.
