The Prime Minister chaired the first Cabinet meeting, thanked the ministers, noted the successful government policy debate, and emphasized that this is a people's government working in unity and as a team, with the public's interest as the highest priority.
At 10:00 a.m. on 11 Apr 2026 GMT+7, at the Santi Maitri Building (Outer Wing) of the Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the first Cabinet meeting of 2026 following the completion of the Cabinet's policy address. On the same day, the Prime Minister presented framed group photos of the Cabinet to all ministers as souvenirs. The meeting was only missing Minister of Culture Sabida Thaiset, who was occupied with other duties.
Before proceeding with the meeting agenda, the Prime Minister said that although it was Saturday, everyone had to come together to work. The two-day parliamentary debate on government policies had passed successfully. This meeting marked the Cabinet's first session after the policy address, meaning this Cabinet now has no legal restrictions previously faced in administering the country and managing situations to assist the people.
He said that therefore, he urged all members to fully use their abilities and decision-making powers to resolve the country's problems within their complete assigned responsibilities. Most importantly, he emphasized that this Cabinet or government is a government of the people, a united team committed to developing the country and providing services that facilitate the people.
Consequently, communication among members to solve problems in a unified direction and to support one another is essential. He asked that no attention be paid to each individual's background; everyone is one team. They presented their policies together, and he sincerely thanked and admired the strong solidarity and cohesion shown by all Cabinet members who attentively listened to parliamentary debates. He observed members taking turns clarifying doubts and concerns raised by members of both government and opposition, as well as senators. Everyone explained clearly, preparing information that addressed various worries. He considered that speaking to the honorable parliamentarians was equivalent to speaking to all 77 million people of the country.
Therefore, the information provided to the parliament was also a message to the public. From now on, the implementation will ensure that all policies and even those not included in the policy address but beneficial to the country and the people will be carried out promptly.
The Prime Minister said he and all deputy prime ministers are fully committed to supporting every minister's mission in all forms. If there are activities or field visits deemed necessary or beneficial to invite fellow Cabinet members, even himself is willing to join in carrying out duties alongside ministers in their responsible areas.
He wished that today would mark the beginning of this government's administration with determination and that the working atmosphere among them would be full of harmony and unity, doing everything for the people. As Prime Minister, he reiterated his full support for everyone's missions, with the people's welfare as the highest and most important goal.
