Suriya Jungroongruangkit has divided responsibilities within the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, appointing two Deputy Ministers, Piyarat and Watcharapol, to oversee 12 agencies jointly driving the ministry’s overall operations.
On 11 April 2026 GMT+7, Suriya Jungroongruangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, announced that to ensure smooth, rapid, and efficient administration, he has delegated authority for orders, approvals, supervision, and other official duties legally assigned to the minister.
He assigned Ms. Piyarat Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the authority to supervise operations and actions of government agencies, state enterprises, and public organizations as follows: 1) Department of Agricultural Extension, 2) Department of Cooperative Promotion, 3) Cooperative Auditing Department, 4) National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards, 5) Fish Marketing Organization, and 6) Highland Research and Development Institute (public organization).
Additionally, Mr. Watcharapol Khawkhum, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, was given authority to supervise operations and actions of government agencies, state enterprises, and public organizations as follows: 1) Department of Fisheries, 2) Department of Sericulture, 3) Office of Agricultural Land Reform, 4) Agricultural Marketing Organization, 5) Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand, and 6) Office of Agricultural Research Development (public organization).
Meanwhile, the Royal Irrigation Department, Rice Department, Department of Livestock Development, Land Development Department, Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department, Department of Agriculture, Office of Agricultural Economics, Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and the Rubber Authority of Thailand remain under the direct supervision of the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
