The Constitution, Section 147, stipulates that when the House of Representatives is dissolved, any pending draft laws are considered immediately "lapsed." However, if a new Cabinet is formed after elections, it may request Parliament to reconsider those lapsed bills within 60 days from the first parliamentary session after the election. In this case, the deadline is 12 May 2026. If Parliament agrees, it can resume consideration of those draft laws through the normal legislative process.
