The Cabinet approved removing Su-ngai Kolok District in Narathiwat Province from the security zone, noting that the situation has changed in a way that allows for the relaxation of some measures to align with the actual conditions on the ground.
On 11 April 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertviwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Cabinet resolved to remove Su-ngai Kolok District in Narathiwat Province from the list of areas affected by security incidents under the Internal Security Act B.E. 2551 (2008).
The Deputy Spokesperson stated that this adjustment follows the resolution of the Emergency Situation Administration Committee, which conducted a comprehensive assessment of the area and concluded that the situation has improved enough to allow "relaxation of certain measures" to better reflect the facts on the ground and support residents’ livelihoods.
At the same time, the Cabinet approved maintaining security measures in 19 other districts across Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, and Songkhla provinces to ensure continued, comprehensive, and effective management of the situation.
This action represents a "balance adjustment" between security maintenance and area rehabilitation, based on the principle of applying measures only as necessary and appropriate to the situation's level, without unduly disrupting residents’ way of life.
"The government affirms it will continue to closely monitor the situation and adjust measures promptly according to local realities, so that security and quality of life progress together," the spokesperson added.
