On 11 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the Cabinet approved the approach for preparing the 2027 fiscal year expenditure budget, along with revising the budget calendar so that the Budget Act can be announced effective by 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7, which will support the continuous and efficient economic momentum of the country.
The preparation of the 2027 budget focuses on addressing public issues while maintaining fiscal discipline, responding to economic volatility, and applying a zero-based budgeting concept by reviewing the necessity of all projects. It also opens up alternative funding sources such as public-private partnerships (PPP) to reduce the country’s budget burden.
