Ms. Lalida revealed that on 14 April, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will offer free visits to conservation forests nationwide in celebration of "Family Day," to provide more opportunities for Thai people to access natural areas.
On 12 April 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertwittayatan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, through the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, will allow Thai citizens to visit conservation forest areas nationwide free of charge on 14 April 2026, "Family Day." This aims to promote eco-tourism and enable the public to spend quality time together amid nature.
This measure waives entrance and vehicle fees for Thai nationals and covers conservation areas nationwide including national parks, forest parks, wildlife sanctuaries, wildlife protection zones, botanical gardens, and arboretums.
The free access initiative is part of efforts to encourage the public to engage with natural resources, learn about ecosystems, and appreciate the importance of conservation, while also boosting domestic tourism during the Songkran festival period.
“This Family Day, the government invites everyone to spend meaningful time together in natural settings, to learn, relax, and jointly care for the country's resources for sustainable preservation,” said Ms. Lalida.
She also urged visitors to travel responsibly by following area regulations and helping to maintain cleanliness, ensuring these conservation forests remain intact for all Thai people in the future.
