Pholpeer Monitors Phimai Sugar Factory Fire, Orders DPM to Fully Support Firefighting Equipment

Pholpeer visited the site to monitor the fire situation at the Phimai sugar factory and ordered the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to fully support firefighting vehicles and equipment in cooperation with local administrative organizations.

At 11:30 a.m. on 12 April 2026, Mr. Pholpeer Suwanchavee, Deputy Minister of Interior, visited the Phimai sugar factory fire site in Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Mr. Anupong Suksamanit, Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima, served as the incident commander, with Mr. Siwasek Sintorom, Phimai District Chief, and relevant government officials and volunteers managing the situation.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Interior ordered the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, through the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center Region 5 in Nakhon Ratchasima, to deploy remote-controlled firefighting vehicles, a 10,000-liter water truck, and two high-ladder fire trucks to support firefighting efforts, alongside local administrative organizations in the area.

The fire is believed to have started from burning sugarcane bagasse piled inside the factory and an excavator, causing the fire to spread. Officials are working with full effort to control the blaze. Once the situation is under control, forensic police will collect evidence and investigate to clearly determine the cause of the fire.
