Veerayut Participates in Isan Water Pouring Ceremony for Songkran Lisa Visits Hat Yai as Locals Complain of Quieter Festivities

Ton Veerayut brought Ice, Toto, and Anan to encourage and join in the traditional water pouring blessings for Northeastern residents during Songkran. Meanwhile, Lisa Phakmon teamed up with MPs to visit southern communities, where business owners in Hat Yai complained that this year's celebrations were quieter and less vibrant than usual.

On 13 April 2026 in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, Ms. Phakmon Noonanan, a People's Party list MP, participated in Songkran traditions and met with locals in Hat Yai. She also followed up on relief efforts and the latest progress in the city's recovery after last year's flooding.

Ms. Phakmon spoke with residents and business owners and surveyed the Songkran festival atmosphere in Hat Yai. She found that commercial activity had not yet returned to the vibrancy of last year's Songkran. Although some city restoration has taken place, many businesses have closed, and combined with the fuel price crisis, parts of the city remain quieter than usual.

Veerayut Kanchuchat, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, together with Rakchanok Srinok (list MP), Anan Amarin (Udonthani MP), and Piyarat Janthep (list MP), took part in Songkran activities in the Northeast, Udonthani Province, where they received warm greetings and support from the public.

Veerayut and fellow MPs and People's Party team members participated in the water pouring ceremony for elders at Ban Phasuk community, followed by a Buddha image bathing ritual at Wat Thipratnimit. They then paid respects at Udonthani's city pillar shrine before traveling to Khon Kaen Province and joining the Songkran festival on Khao Niao Road near the city intersection in Khon Kaen.
