Jiraporn, a Pheu Thai MP from Roi Et, promotes the new Songkran landmark “Khao Pun Sao Road” in Phanom Phrai, inviting people to enjoy water activities and free Isan rice noodles throughout April 13-14, 2026.
On April 14, 2026, Ms. Jiraporn Sinthuprai, Member of Parliament for Roi Et Province's 5th district from the Pheu Thai Party, invited the public to join the Songkran festival held for the first time at Khao Pun Sao Road, the new landmark of Phanom Phrai District, Roi Et Province, from April 13-14, 2026. The event aims to become an annual tradition to attract tourists, create jobs, and distribute income within the community.
Ms. Jiraporn said that in 2025, the government led by the Pheu Thai Party successfully organized a grand Songkran festival at Sanam Luang, which attracted many foreign tourists and generated billions in revenue for the country. She supports Phanom Phrai District's initiative to turn local traditions into economic value for the community. Local leaders collaborated with government agencies and the private sector to transform the area in front of the Phanom Phrai district office into the first-ever Songkran event called “Khao Pun Sao Road.” Highlights include a 30-meter water tunnel and musical performances featuring local bands and EDM, adding vibrant fun. The event also offers “Khao Pun Sao,” a famous local rice noodle dish known for its fresh, small, chewy traditional noodles served with local vegetables and a special fermented fish sauce unique to the area, provided free to visitors throughout the event.
Moreover, on the mornings of April 13-14, Phanom Phrai District will hold a water pouring ceremony to pay respects and seek blessings from elders for good fortune. In the evenings, the Songkran festival on Khao Pun Sao Road will continue. Those who miss this year’s event are encouraged to join the fun next year.
