During Songkran 2026, Warawut Sinlapacha paid respects and sought blessings from Praphat Phothasuthon, praising him as a key lieutenant of former leader Boonharan and a pillar working for the people of Suphanburi. Meanwhile, Praphat wished everyone health, good luck, and great wealth.
15 April 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Warawut Sinlapacha, Minister of Industry, poured water to pay respects and seek blessings from Mr. Praphat Phothasuthon, Member of Parliament (MP) for Suphanburi, Bhumjaithai Party, former Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, on the occasion of the Songkran Festival, the Thai New Year, at the traditional Thai-style house in Sri Prachant district, Suphanburi Province, where the atmosphere was refreshing.
At the same time, Warawut thanked the community leaders, village heads, and residents of Sri Prachant who came from various areas, describing them as key supporters and fans of Praphat. This year is another year we gather to ask for New Year blessings and to pay respects to the elders we respect, who are pillars of Suphanburi. This year, fortunately, two uncle-nephew figures have continued working for Thailand and Suphanburi province. Every year, I always say that no matter where we are or what position we hold, the uncle-nephew relationship between Praphat and Warawut is what matters most.
"The man named Praphat has been the chief lieutenant of Boonharan Sinlapacha for decades, since I can remember. Until today, Uncle Praphat remains unchanged, still a pillar for us people of Suphanburi—a sheltering shade and a large tree spreading its branches to care for us, especially in Sri Prachant district. Age is not to be mentioned because every year when Praphat comes, he never seems to grow older. Besides never aging, I have never seen anyone stand beside him as a bride either, which means if that ever happens, he must be old."
Warawut added that this New Year, as a nephew and as a person from Suphanburi, he comes to express his respect and reverence to the elder and to seek blessings for himself and all guests present. He invoked all sacred spirits in Suphanburi province: Luang Pho To of Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan, the spirit of King Naresuan the Great, the Suphanburi city pillar shrine, and Boonharan, wishing that Uncle Praphat be granted physical strength, courage, and wisdom for a long time. Happy New Year.
On the other hand, Praphat said that for 51 years, they have never abandoned each other, practicing this tradition for decades. Warawut comes like this every year, showing their close bond and mutual respect. As Warawut said, they are uncle and nephew who help each other. "I have been here since Boonharan's time, developing Suphanburi together continuously until now, earning recognition. Today is an auspicious day, the Thai New Year, Songkran Festival. I wish everyone good luck, strong health, stability, and great wealth. May everyone be very rich, right?"
