Ratchada Avoids Responding to Sirikanyas Opposition to Half-Half Plus Scheme, Affirms Government Plans Electricity and Fertilizer Aid Package

Government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek declines to respond to Sirikanya Tansakul's opposition to the current 'Half-Half Plus' scheme, affirming that the government is already addressing the cost of living and plans to introduce relief packages to assist with electricity and fertilizer costs.

On 15 April 2026 GMT+7 at the Government House, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, spoke regarding Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul, a party-list MP and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, who stated that the 'Half-Half Plus' measure is ill-timed for economic stimulus and that the focus should be on alleviating the cost of living. Ratchada said she would not respond because the government is already considering cost-of-living support and has initiated the Thai Help Thai program. She added that further measures will be rolled out in batches and encouraged both the public and opposition to follow these developments.

When asked about upcoming Cabinet meetings and whether new economic stimulus or relief measures would be introduced, Ratchada stated that measures will be gradually released addressing cost of living, the 'Half-Half' program, electricity subsidies for households with low consumption, and fertilizer support. She confirmed that the government is committed to providing this assistance.
