Prime Minister Understands Feelings of Scam Victims Anti-Money Laundering Office to Open Rights Protection Requests

A government spokesperson revealed that Prime Minister Anutin understands the feelings of victims in the transnational scam case. Recently, the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) is preparing to restore justice to the victims by soon opening requests for rights protection to ease their concerns.

16 Apr 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, disclosed that the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) has successfully seized assets linked to the network of transnational scammers. The case involves Ms. Tangthai regarding MR.LEAK YIM (Mr. Yim Leak), Ms. Wirinya, MR.SMITH BEN (Mr. Ben Smith), and Ms. Katriya and associates, with total assets exceeding 20 billion baht.

. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul continues to closely follow the case, understanding the distress of the victims who were deceived. He has instructed relevant officials to expedite protection of victims' rights by returning or compensating the assets related to the crimes to the victims proportionally, instead of letting the assets become state property.

Currently, AMLO is preparing an announcement to open requests for rights protection related to Ms. Tangthai Banmahings and associates regarding Mr. Yim Leak, Ms. Wirinya Yim, Mr. Ben Smith, and Ms. Katriya Beaver and associates. It is expected to open soon. Coordination with the Royal Thai Police has been made to establish submission points at AMLO offices and police stations nationwide, along with online and postal submission channels to facilitate victims.

"Victims can submit requests within 90 days from the date of announcement in the Government Gazette. The public is encouraged to follow updates on the AMLO website and prepare evidence such as transfer slips, bank statements, police reports, and related documents."
