Government Spokesperson Team Reveals Prime Minister’s Directive for Clear, Comprehensive, and Well-Rounded Communication

The government spokesperson team aims to establish the Thai Khu Fah page as the main platform to accurately and quickly explain government policies. The Prime Minister has issued a directive that communication must be easy to understand, complete, and well-rounded, while also listening to public feedback.

On 16 April 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, Ms. Lalida Pertvivattana, deputy spokesperson, and Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Saengchan, former Bhumjaithai Party MP candidate and incoming deputy spokesperson, shared after paying respects to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul during Songkran for good fortune that the role of government spokespersons today is to fully commit to their work. The Prime Minister has provided guidance emphasizing that in current circumstances, communication must be complete with comprehensive information explaining government measures clearly to the public. This is a primary task, requiring attention to public feedback to be conveyed thoroughly in communication cycles. The focus is on basing work on the feelings and expectations of the public today and presenting truth to ensure communication flows accurately from government to people and vice versa.

Regarding the division of political and government news roles, Ms. Ratchada said all aspects must be considered. However, she does not want the role to be seen as political counterattacks or back-and-forth rebuttals. Instead, she wants the public and media to understand that in the social media era, information is multi-dimensional. Some issues require clear explanations, but the spokesperson team should not be viewed as responding confrontationally. Their work is grounded in truth and accurate information to foster mutual understanding. She emphasized that the team aims to make all Thai Khu Fah platforms reliable sources of correct information. Some adjustments have already been made, including simplifying language, reducing formality, speeding up posts to match current events, and adding graphics to break down long-standing formal styles to suit a changing society. Therefore, the spokesperson office's work and communication styles must evolve, and this process has begun.

The government spokesperson team will primarily disseminate information through the Thai Khu Fah page, establishing it as a trusted source of accurate information, especially in an era full of rumors. This ensures the public knows the truth about news related to the government. Thai Khu Fah will be the main channel for conveying factual and correct information to the people.

As for a theme for this work, none has been decided yet. The core principles guiding their practice are straightforwardness and completeness to promote clear understanding among the public.

Regarding concerns about the use of information operations (IO) to attack the government, Ms. Ratchada said she is not afraid but is aware of this issue. Having reached this position, she does not expect praise or likes, which is unrealistic, but will perform her duties to the best of her ability.
Ms. Ratchada also revealed that among the deputy government spokespersons, each has individual strengths. She considers herself the senior with prior experience. Ms. Lalida is proficient in Chinese, which is an advantage in communicating government actions to Chinese-speaking citizens. Meanwhile, Ms. Ploytale is fluent in English and excels at communicating foreign affairs. The current spokesperson team does not communicate only with Thais but aims to inform the international community about the government's short-, medium-, and long-term measures and policies during crises for accurate understanding.

Ms. Lalida said she has prior experience and guarantees that this time the work will be more intensive. She plans to apply lessons learned from before to improve the spokesperson team’s performance and the overall government communication.

Ms. Ploytale, representing the younger generation, said that after receiving the Prime Minister’s guidance, she aims to communicate government work clearly to young people in a world rife with fake news. Thus, communicating factual government information to the youth is a key goal. She intends to use all channels, including her personal page and Thai Khu Fah, simultaneously to provide accurate, easy-to-understand news for young audiences.
