Registration Opens April 16-19, 2026 for Financial Aid to Support Transport Sector

Registration is now open from April 16 to 19, 2026, for financial assistance aimed at supporting the transport sector and stabilizing citizens' cost of living.

On April 16, 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Cabinet approved measures to alleviate the impact of oil prices on the transport sector. The measures cover public buses, freight trucks, and hired vehicles with a total budget of approximately 2.06 billion baht. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul emphasized that the implementation must be strict, transparent, and auditable.

The Department of Land Transport (DLT) under the Ministry of Transport allows eligible applicants to register online via the DLT system or submit applications at transport offices nationwide from April 16 to 19, 2026. After eligibility verification, funds will be transferred through PromptPay to support 42 days of operation from April 20 to May 31, 2026. Applicants can register anytime at https://tss.dlt.go.th/ or visit DLT or any provincial transport office across the country.

This measure aims to reduce operational costs for transport operators while keeping fares fixed to ease pressure on the cost of living and ensure sufficient public transport services, especially during Songkran. It covers three main groups of operators: public buses, freight trucks, and hired vehicles.

1. Certain types of regular route buses, such as Category 1 and 4 in Bangkok, receive a lump sum of 5,040 baht per vehicle, requiring a minimum of 2,500 kilometers traveled. Categories 2 and 3 receive 2 baht per kilometer, capped at 700 and 500 baht per day respectively. Non-regular buses such as buses, minibuses, and vans receive 5,000 and 3,600 baht per vehicle respectively.

2. Trucks with 10 wheels or more receive 6,000 baht per vehicle, requiring at least 4,000 kilometers traveled, while smaller trucks receive 3,000 baht per vehicle with a minimum of 2,500 kilometers.

3. Hired vehicles: taxis receive 5,040 baht per vehicle, must install and use the DLT GPS NOTICE app, and travel at least 2,500 kilometers. Public motorcycles receive 840 baht per vehicle.

Eligible recipients must be properly registered with valid licenses and provide actual service for the required distance within 42 days. GPS data will be verified before payments are made after the measure ends.

Vehicles required to use the DLT GPS NOTICE app must keep it active throughout the service period. Failure to comply or providing false information will result in disqualification and possible legal penalties.

“Overall, this measure helps stabilize transport sector costs while setting conditions for actual service to ensure targeted, transparent, and effective assistance. Registration can be completed via the “DLT Support” system at https://tss.dlt.go.th/ 24 hours a day, or at the Department of Land Transport building, 3rd floor, 1st section, or any provincial transport office nationwide. Registration opens from April 16, 2026, 8:30 a.m. until April 19, 2026, 4:30 p.m.,” she said. Ms. Ratchada added.
