Pakornwut severely criticizes the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for dismissing the complaint against Saksayam, suspecting it may be a move to pave the way for someone to reclaim a ministerial seat. He fears for the uncertain future of anti-corruption efforts.
On 16 April 2026, MP Pakornwut Udompipatsakul of the People’s Party posted a critique regarding the NACC's decision to dismiss the complaint against former Minister of Transport Saksayam Chidchob in the case of concealing shares in Buricharoen Ltd., a decision that contradicts the Constitutional Court's earlier ruling that led to his removal from office.
Pakornwut stated that although the NACC is not bound by the Constitutional Court’s ruling, evidence from the Anti-Money Laundering Office and financial institutions should clearly indicate nominee behavior and asset concealment. He questioned the standards of the current NACC, appointed by the Senate, especially four out of nine commissioners allegedly linked to the pro-government faction, asking whether they apply consistent criteria to all complaints.
He further speculated that this dismissal might abandon all principles to facilitate someone’s return to a ministerial position. He also questioned the future prospects of anti-corruption efforts from the independent agency known as the NACC.
