Three Deputy Interior Ministers Discuss with Supachai to Increase Mobile Market Vans Operators, Targeting 3,800 Vehicles

Three Deputy Ministers of the Interior joined discussions with Supachai to push forward reducing the cost of living, opening registration for additional "mobile market vans," targeting 3,800 vehicles, and instructing district chiefs nationwide to support the initiative.

At 16:30 on 16 April 2026, at Meeting Room 301, Government House Building 1, Deputy Interior Ministers Polpee Suwanchavee, Jeset Thaiset, and Worasit Liangprasith attended a meeting to drive the Thong Fah project to alleviate citizens' living costs. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Suthumphun, with Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaiyachon Chidchob, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Suksomruay Wantaneeyakul, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration Narucha Kosasivilai, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce and related agencies.

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has set policies and directives for the Ministry of Interior to integrate with the Ministry of Commerce and relevant partners to implement projects mitigating the impact of living costs on citizens caused by the Middle East crisis affecting daily life. The Cabinet approved and authorized the "Living Cost Relief" project to distribute goods at special prices in areas with specific needs such as remote rural regions or vulnerable groups, through organized programs. The "Thong Fah Budget Prices " program offers prices 30–60% below the market average, covering more than 200 essential consumer products like rice, eggs, palm oil, and sugar, helping reduce household expenses by at least 500 baht per month.

For remote areas where citizens cannot access markets or Thong Fah stores, the program uses the format of "mobile markets" and mobile market vans to distribute products, with successful examples in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Today's meeting discussed advancing the registration of additional "mobile market vans" operators with a target of 3,800 vehicles. The Deputy Ministers of the Interior assigned the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration to instruct all district chiefs nationwide to support the project and raise awareness among citizens and mobile market van operators to register for the Thong Fah Living Cost Relief program. Those who own vehicles can register to receive special-priced goods for sale in remote areas. These measures aim to manage prices of essential consumer goods, support vulnerable groups, and strengthen SME operators to ensure the Cabinet-approved project achieves maximum benefits for the Thai people.
