Prime Minister Leads Delegation to Southern Border Provinces, Holds Security Talks and Monitors Local Situation

Prime Minister Anutin leads a delegation to inspect the three southern border provinces, consults with security agencies, monitors the local situation, and meets with Wan Nor before flying to open a tourism promotion event in Pathio District, Chumphon Province.

At 07:55 on 17 April 2026, at Military Airport 2, Wing 6, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Defense General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Pradorn Prisana-nantakul, Minister of Justice Police Lieutenant General Rutthaphon Naowarat, Minister of Education Prasert Chanruangthong, Deputy Minister of Transport Sanphet Boonyamanee, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Jetsadakorn Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior Worawit Liangprasith, Permanent Secretary of the Interior Atsit Sampanrat, and Supreme Commander Air Chief Marshal Ukrit Boontanont traveled to Narathiwat Airport to inspect the southern border provinces and Chumphon Province.

Upon arrival at Narathiwat Airport, the Prime Minister and delegation proceeded to the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) to deliver government policy directives on resolving issues in the southern border provinces and to inspect operations. They then traveled to Baan Sri Yala, Suteng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Yala Province, to hold official discussions with Wan Muhamad Nor Matha, the Prime Minister's Advisory Chairman.

Next, they traveled to the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Front at Sirindhorn Camp, Khao Tum Subdistrict, Yarang District, Pattani Province, where the Prime Minister presided over a meeting to monitor security in the southern border provinces and reviewed the current security situation.

Additionally, the Prime Minister plans to visit the border area in Waeng District at the bridge connecting Buketa, Thailand, and Bukit Buhang, Malaysia (Thai side) in Narathiwat Province, before traveling to preside over the opening ceremony of a tourism promotion project at Bang Berd Beach, Pak Khlong Subdistrict, Pathio District, Chumphon Province.
